Position Summary

The faculty will be responsible for providing educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time and substitute basis in Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning courses.

Abilities and Skills

*Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. (Minimum)

*Possession of a valid driver’s license. (Desired)

Education

*Associate Degree in HVAC or a related discipline, OR, equivalent combination of education and work experience that qualifies the individual to perform the functions of the position. (Minimum)
*Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC or related discipline. (Desired)
*Formal coursework in Education. (Desired)

Experience

*Six (6) years of trade experience; OR, Journey or Master Plumbers License (Minimum)
*Professional teaching experience (Desired)

Responsibilities and Duties

-Instruct and evaluate student performance in Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning courses. (Essential)
-Maintain accurate written records of student performance. (Essential)
-Assume responsibility for laboratory coordination and maintenance. (Essential)
-Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects. (Essential)
-Comply with College safety, hazardous waste disposal, and recycling policies. (Essential)
-Complete official student rosters and return to school office as required. (Essential)
-Attend school and department meetings as requested. (Marginal)
-Supervise students in laboratory clean-up activities. (Essential)
-Maintain office hours according to part-time agreement. (Essential)

*Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds.

Pay Rate / Salary

The part-time rate for 2017/18 will be the greater of $1080 per credit or $720 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven.

The approved substitute pay rate is $45.00 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
