Position Summary

The Student Videographer/Editor will be responsible for videotaping College events, activities, students, employees, facilities and equipment. He/she will record and edit video for use on the College website, in social media and broadcast outlets.

As-needed, up to 18 hours per week

Abilities and Skills

*Competency with video cameras, digital SLR and video or photo editing software. (Minimum)
*Competency with industry standard editing software such as Apple Final Cut Pro X or Motion; Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign; Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve or related software. (Minimum)
*Ability to work with tight deadlines and minimal supervision. (Minimum)
*Must exhibit a professional demeanor. (Minimum)
*Must possess a valid driver’s license. (Minimum)
*Competency with 3D and compositing software such Cinema 4D, Maya, Lightwave, Apple Motion, Adobe After Effects, Houdini or related software. (Desired)
*Competency with audio software such as Adobe Audition, Apple Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Fruity Loops, Cubase, or related software. (Desired)


*Must be a Penn College student. (Minimum)


*Experience with studio and field lighting equipment such as reflectors, light boxes, umbrellas, etc. (Desired)

Responsibilities and Duties

-Videotape Penn College events and related subjects and activities. (Essential)
-Edit and color grade/correct footage using the appropriate computer software. (Essential)
-Archive and log all shot footage in the established video database. (Essential)
-Submit all videos and related information to supervisor for review prior to release. (Essential)


*Digital video cameras, lenses, lights and audio equipment
*Standard office equipment
*Hardware and software necessary for shooting video and still photographs, editing, color grading/correcting, and maintaining video and photos in an electronic database

Physical Standards

*Work in a variety of settings, from campus laboratories to workplaces, construction sites, etc.

*Evening and weekend work will be required.
*Travel may be required with use of College vehicle or personal vehicle with reimbursement at the current College rate.
*Candidates must provide samples of video or photography work.
