Position Summary

The director will be responsible for managing operations of Workforce Development & Continuing Education (WDCE) including overseeing the supervision of support staff. The Operations/Special Projects Director will provide operational oversight including, ensuring the efficient department-wide use of customer relationship management tools, developing grant applications, tracking progress and reporting, technical writing, developing and administering budgets and other operational functions within WDCE.

*Must be capable of developing programs and activities that generate revenue to match the operating expenses of WDCE. (Minimum)
*Knowledge of industrial, plastics, business/leadership, healthcare, computer and energy training and consulting needs. (Desired)


*Bachelor’s Degree in directly related discipline, OR combination of education and/or training, work experience, and proven capacity to manage business operations, including developing and tracking budgets, technical writing and managing staff in an efficient cost-effective operation of an organizational unit. (Minimum)


*Three (3) years of experience in an office or program administration role. (Minimum)

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential unless otherwise noted:
-Supervise appropriate staff.
-Develop, in conjunction with WDCE leadership, the comprehensive budget and monitor weekly status against goals.
-Review financial statements, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
-Seek and effectively respond to grant applications, maintain necessary records and fulfill reporting requirements and deliver results on time.
-Develop, organize and ensure. implementation of department-wide standard operating procedures.
-Ensure company-wide usage of customer relationship management tools.
-Develop comprehensive understanding of trainee management system.
-Manage trainee outreach including press releases, constant contact and the creation of a bi-annual catalog.
-Oversee the development of customer satisfaction tools, review feedback and either make improvements or recommend improvements to leadership.
-Maintain strong communication with directors within WDCE and with others across campus.
-Ensure execution of strategic initiatives, including the development of goals and objectives for support staff.
-Act as cost center administrator for assigned projects.
-Aggressively promote the mission and services of WDCE through presentations and other publicity using various mediums and channels, including social media.
-Nurture and strengthen collaboration with internal WDCE staff and working relationships with other areas within the College, industry and vendors.
-Participate in College and community development initiatives that connect to WDCE.

Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Administrative, Professional and Technical Staff Salary System.
