Position Summary

This person will serve as a food/beverage catering attendant for Dining Services.

*Possession of a valid driver’s license. (Minimum)
*Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations. (Minimum)
*Ability to provide event summary report(s) to Special Events Manager at the conclusion of each function. (Minimum)
*Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook/email. (Minimum)


*High School Diploma. (Minimum)


*Three (3) months of Dining Service experience. (Minimum)
*Basic understanding of catering/special event planning to include: preparation, set up, service, and clean up. (Minimum)
*Knowledge of proper serving techniques for food and beverages. (Minimum)
*Previous cashier experience. (Minimum)
*Cash handling knowledge. Ability to accurately process transactions and provide correct change to customers. (Minimum)

Responsibilities and Duties

-Utilize catering and/or kitchen carts to move food, beverage, and other products to events on and off-campus. (Essential)
-Arrange and set up Dining Service special events/functions on and off-campus as directed by the Manager. (Essential)
-Set up and clean catering equipment. (Essential)
-Keep tables and serving area stocked and clean. (Essential)
-Assist Dining Service staff with food preparation for multiple special events/dinners. (Essential)
-Assist other Dining Service staff with serving and clearing of beverages and foods for multiple events. (Essential)
-Regularly assist in various dining units (i.e., cashiering, working on food line, dish, food prep, etc.) as directed by direct supervisor. (Essential)
-Deliver/retrieve equipment to/from scheduled events at various College locations. (Essential)
-Replenish catering supplies in various locations on and off campus and inform the Special Events Manager of the need to order additional supplies. (Essential)
-Notify Manager of any damage to or missing items from service area; properly secure coolers and cabinets when leaving. (Essential)
-In the performance of duties, comply with all safety and sanitation procedures/HACCP procedures. (Essential)
-Follow established procedures for labeling of potential allergens. (Essential)
-Fill orders and assemble packages for Wildcat Wish program. (Essential)
-Contact students when packages are ready and deliver as appropriate. (Essential)
-Assist Dining Service staff with food preparation, cooking, serving and clean-up for catered meals and special events. (Essential)
-Must work on College closure days when directed by your manager. (Essential)

Physical Standards

*Lifting not to exceed 50 lbs. Occasional lifting not to exceed 75 pounds when done with assistance.
*Pushing and/or pulling a catering and/or kitchen cart to exceed 200 lbs.
*Standing for long periods of time and frequent walking to events across campus

Special Job Features

*Regular Part-time position – 25 hours per week.
*Must be willing to be flexible with work schedule to include mornings, evenings, and weekend hours to meet the needs of the Dining Service Department. Schedule will vary depending on scheduled events.
*Occasional work beyond normal hours may be required.
*Travel to other campus sites and locations will be necessary to meet the needs of special events.
*State Police, Child Line, and FBI fingerprint clearances under the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) required before employment can begin.
*Background check will be required on selected candidate.
