Position Summary

The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership, and student instruction on a substitute basis in the Diesel Equipment Technology Program.

Abilities and Skills

*Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. (Minimum)
*Developed organizational skills. (Minimum)

Education

*Associate Degree in Heavy Construction Equipment, Diesel Equipment Technology or related discipline, OR, equivalent combination of education and training. (Minimum)

Experience

*Three (3) years related trade experience. (Minimum)
*Relevant secondary or postsecondary school teaching experience. (Desired)

Responsibilities and Duties

-Instruct and evaluate students in one or more courses offered in the diesel equipment Technology program. (Essential)
-Maintain accurate written records of Student performance. (Essential)

*Requisite tools of the trade

Physical Standards

*Some limited lifting not to exceed 30 lbs.
*Some reaching, kneeling, and bending required as part of equipment maintenance.

Special Job Features

*Preferred availability to substitute on short notice between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
*Finalist must present a sample lesson.
*Candidates for teaching positions must be fluent in the English language (oral and written) – English Fluency in Higher Education Act. (Pennsylvania Senate Bill 539/Act No. 76)
*Assignment(s) will be located at the Earth Science Center in Allenwood/Montgomery, PA.
*Background check will be required on selected candidate.

Pay Rate / Salary

The part-time rate for 2016/17 will be the greater of $1080 per credit or $720 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven.

The approved substitute pay rate is $45.00 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
