Position Summary

The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in biology courses.

Abilities and Skills

*Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures. (Minimum)
*Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. (Minimum)
*Developed organizational skills. (Minimum)
*Interdisciplinary approach to education. (Minimum)


*Bachelor’s Degree in Anatomy & Physiology or closely related discipline. (Minimum)
*Master’s Degree in Anatomy & Physiology or closely related discipline. (Desired)
*Coursework in or experience using computers in instruction. (Desired)


*Teaching Anatomy & Physiology at the secondary or college level for at least two semesters, both lecture and laboratory. (Minimum)

Responsibilities and Duties

-Instruct and evaluate students in biology courses which may include; Anatomy and Physiology (lecture or laboratory or both). (Essential)
-Maintain accurate written records of student performance. (Essential)
-Complete official student roster and return to School office as required. (Essential)
-Attend school meetings as requested. (Marginal)
-Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines. (Essential)


*Equipment specific to the biology laboratory.

Pay Rate / Salary

The part-time rate for 2016/17 will be the greater of $1080 per credit or $720 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven.

The approved substitute pay rate is $45.00 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
